Cobbler Mountain Cider Review
I visited Cobbler Mountain twice now. Once in 2021 in the summer and once in the winter of 2022. It is a very secluded, tucked away in the woods, sort of place. Do not expect to have cell reception but do expect to take in the natural environment.
There had a small food truck and live music the first time I was there. The second time, I did not note either being present. You walk up a slight hill from the parking lot to get to the taproom. There are multiple picnic tables and chairs scattered throughout the lawn. It is partly shaded from umbrellas and trees, but if you happen to be in the sun, be warned it can get pretty hot. Additionally, since their cider is so sweet, it does attract bees so if you are allergic, I'd recommend trying to find shelter indoors, though indoor seating is extremely limited.
They have quite a selection of ciders. I would guess between 16-20 at a given time. The ciders can be a little artificial tasting and overly bubbly depending on what you choose. Fair warning, the cider is extremely sweet, so expect that going in or you will be in for a surprise.
Both times I’ve been there, I’ve gotten a flight of 8, though I believe you can get flights even larger if you’d like. Certainly though, two people could share a flight of 8. I believe my flight was about $36. There is also a cider dog and cider cat that come around to check in on you.
So far, I’ve had the following ciders from there:
- Kickin’ Cinnamon – 4.5/5
- Pomegranate Black Currant – 3.5/5
- Cranberry Hard Tea – 4/5
- Delaplane Strawberry Cider – 3.75/5
- Fall Sangria – 3.75/5
- Cinnamon Pumpkin – 3.75/5
- Apple House Donut – 4.75-5
- Wild Blackberry Hop – 4/5
- Harvest Pumpkin – 4.25/5
Their location is relaxed and chill. I got the impression that many of the patrons were regulars. There isn't an amazing view like some of the other cideries, but it's peaceful and secluded. It’s a little bit out of the way, but certainly worth the trip, especially for an avid cider enthusiast.
